OIC welcomes decision by Trinidad and Tobago to recognize the State of Palestine

BANJUL: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed Trinidad and Tobago’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine, calling it an important step that complies with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

A statement from the OIC said on Friday that the decision contributes to ensuring that the Palestinian people can exercise their legitimate rights, including the right of return, to self-determination and to embody the establishment of the sovereign State of Palestine, on its borders of June 4, 1967. with Al-Quds as its capital.

The OIC has renewed its call on all countries of the world that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to announce the recognition of the State of Palestine as soon as possible, in support of international efforts to end the Israeli occupation and to achieve stability and peace in the country. the region, based on the vision of the two-state solution and the relevant resolutions on international legitimacy.
