Canada arrests suspected hitmen for murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar

TORONTO – Canadian police made the first arrests on Friday the shooting death of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a gurdwara in British Columbia last year, according to a Canadian official familiar with the case.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive law enforcement matter, said the three men arrested are Indian Canadians, believed to be part of an organized crime network acting on behalf of the Indian government and its intelligence apparatus .
