Watch: Virat Kohli fan shows love for ‘Namma RCB’ at graduation ceremony in US

With an incredible fan base and a strong squad at their disposal, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are one of the most followed franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite their stellar off-field presence, the Bengaluru-based team has yet to win the IPL trophy in their 16-year journey. Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans have also developed a strong bond with Virat Kohli’s team.

Now, an Indian student recently proved this point when she showed up at her graduation ceremony wearing a Royal Challengers Bengaluru jersey. Acknowledged as a die-hard Kohli fan, Likhitha Suggala, who resides in the United States, appeared on stage wearing the latest red and blue RCB kit. After receiving the diploma, Suggala unfolded the sweater and showed it off to the audience.

The trend was set by a senior student from the same university, Ruthvik Sankar. After conferring the diploma, Sankar waved an RCB flag on the stage. His gesture caused a lot of commotion on social media at the time. Following Sankar, Likhitha Suggala has now shown her loyalty towards RCB.

A video of the moment was shared on her Instagram account with the caption: “Royal Challengers Bengaluru is a team that has taught us much more than cricket, 15 years strong and still stands by my team’s side, true loyalty knows no defeat! Just a junior continuing the ritual started by her senior Ruthvik Sankar. I hope my juniors would do the same.”

Under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have not been able to do anything impressive so far this season. They have registered three wins in ten appearances in the ongoing edition of the IPL so far.

Despite RCB’s underperformance, Virat Kohli has been in good touch. He is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the league after Orange Cap holder and Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. Kohli has so far amassed a total of 500 runs at an average of 71.42 in IPL 2024. He will next be seen in action when RCB take on Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru on May 4.
