C&W COMMUNICATIONS PROUD TO BE ASSOCIATED AS ATHLETES “CHASE THE SUN” – Magnetic Media

World Relays is title sponsored by BTC, one of C&W’s local brands.

In just a few days, athletes from more than fifty countries will converge on the Bahamas for the BTC World Athletic Relays Bahamas 24. C&W Communications, BTC’s parent company, is proud to be associated with this major event, where athletes from the Bahamas 24 will be visible. The Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago are competing for a place at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Inge Smidts, CEO of C&W Communications, who is also chairman of the BTC Board of Directors, will be in the stands to witness the highly anticipated relays. Smidts says this was an event she simply couldn’t miss. “We are proud to support our Caribbean athletes, and we wish them the best as they battle for a spot at the Olympic Games.

The relays will be held in one of our markets, the Bahamas, and we are honored to be the title sponsor of the event. The World Relays represent the spirit of relentless courage and the willingness to succeed of the Caribbean people and of our company. Through partnerships like this, we demonstrate our continued commitment to connecting communities and changing lives.”

In addition to sponsoring the event, Smidts said it was important that athletes, officials and fans remained connected during the competitions. “As a company, we want to ensure our customers have access to faster, stronger and more reliable connectivity, and we’ve worked with our partners to ensure athletes and guests stay connected.

We have offered e-SIM cards and we have also worked with major hotels to set up care centers so that we can resolve any connectivity issues on site. Furthermore, I am pleased to announce that BTC will offer free Wi-Fi in the stadium, giving customers and athletes the opportunity to share every immersive moment.”

BTC has organized a special event just for the Caribbean athletes at the newly renovated Queen’s Staircase in Nassau, a newly renovated historic landmark visited by thousands of tourists every day. This event gave athletes a chance to relax, interact and learn more about each other right before the competition.

This is the fourth time that BTC and its parent company C&W Communications have sponsored the world relay. The BTC World Athletic Relays will be held at the Thomas A. Robinson Track & Field Stadium from May 4 to 5, under the theme ‘Chase the Sun, from Paradise to Paris’.
