‘Khawaja Saad Rafique elected as PML-N general secretary during CWC session’

LAHORE – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to take charge as PML-N president, while a proposal has been made to appoint former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique as the party’s general secretary.

Local media reports indicate that the proposal will be presented at the ruling party’s General Council meeting and the final decision on the matter could also be taken at the General Council meeting.

The PML-N general council meeting will be held on May 11 in Lahore.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to be re-elected as the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Sharif, who led the party until his disqualification in the Panama case in 2018, is likely to be elected PML-N president unopposed.
