Stray Kids joins BTS in gaining special recognition in the United States once again

Stray Kids, the South Korean boy band, is gearing up for their next big step in the music industry. With a single featuring Charlie Puth due out later this month, the group hopes to make a mark on the charts and attract new fans. Ahead of this release, Stray Kids have reached a major milestone by achieving a gold certification from the RIAA for their recent single “Maniac.” This certification means the song has moved 500,000 equivalent units in the US through a combination of pure sales and streaming equivalents.

“Maniac” goes gold and is Stray Kids’ second gold single in the US, following their initial certification for “God’s Menu” last October. This achievement puts them in a category shared by only one other South Korean boy band: BTS. Known for their numerous successes on the international stage, BTS has seen ten songs go gold in the US, six of which reached platinum status and some even achieved multi-platinum certifications. Their hit ‘Dynamite’ is their most certified song and has achieved triple platinum status.

In addition to their gold singles, Stray Kids also has two gold albums in their discography. Earlier this year, their album “Rock-Star” was certified gold in the US, following their previous success with “5-Star” which received gold certification last year. While they have yet to reach platinum status for any of their releases, the group’s continued success and growing fanbase suggest that it may only be a matter of time before they reach this milestone.

The fact that Stray Kids is only the second South Korean boy band with more than one gold single in America underlines their growing influence and popularity in the international music scene. In addition to BTS, who have set the bar high with their multiple gold and platinum certifications, Stray Kids are paving the way for future K-pop acts to make a mark on the global music landscape. With their unique sound, energetic performances and dedicated fan base, Stray Kids are well positioned to continue their success and potentially reach even greater heights in the future.

As the group prepares to release their collaboration with Charlie Puth and continues to work on new music and projects, fans are eagerly awaiting what the future holds for Stray Kids. With their recent gold certification for “Maniac” and their track record in both music sales and streaming, Stray Kids are proving themselves to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Their achievements and accolades to date are just the beginning of what is sure to be a long and successful career for this talented group of young musicians.
