The Cuban head of parliament is holding talks with presidents of popular councils

Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP) and the Council of State, led today’s exchange with the top representatives of the 106 popular councils in Havana.

As reported on ANPP’s X, Lazo Hernandez was accompanied by Livan Izquierdo Alonso, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Havana; the governor of the province Yanet Hernandez Perez; Yumil Rodriguez Fernandez, Vice Chairman of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee and Deputy Head of the ANPP Secretariat; Miriam Brito Sarroca and Carlos Rafael Fuentes Leon, President and Vice President of the Commission for Local Bodies of the ANPP.

On the same social network, Izquierdo Alonso stated that the exchange confirmed the political and popular authority of the popular councils at the service of the people.

The meeting also made it possible to analyze control actions and popular participation to solve the problems in the communities.
