CHICAGO – Chicago Fire FC announced today that the club has signed Chicago Fire FC II winger Omari Glasgow to a short-term deal. Glasgow will be available for the MLS regular season home match against the New England Revolution at Soldier Field.

The 20-year-old Glasgow signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract with Chicago Fire FC II on March 24, 2022. He currently holds an international position with the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro side.

Since joining the club, Glasgow has played in 42 games (40 starts) for Chicago Fire FC II. In his three seasons with the Fire, Glasgow scored twelve goals and ten assists. So far in 2024, Glasgow has scored two goals, including one in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Atlanta United 2.

At international level, Glasgow is a constant for the Guyana men’s national team. As a member of the Golden Jaguars, Glasgow has 14 career goals with the senior team. Glasgow recently received the CONCACAF Nations League Young Player of the Tournament award. With seven goals in five games, Glasgow also earned the CONCACAF Nations League Top Scorer award, becoming the first Guyanese player to win the award. Additionally, at just 20 years old, Glasgow is the youngest player in league history to earn this honor.

Under MLS rules, a club may sign a player from its affiliate (MLS NEXT Pro or USL) to a maximum of four short-term contracts (contracts of up to four days) per season (maximum 16 days). An individual player may be named to a maximum of four MLS league fixture rosters each season, but that player may appear in no more than two MLS league matches. An individual player may participate in any number of non-league matches during the terms of his four short-term contracts.
