Toddler rescued from roof top in deadly Brazil floods

STORY: A video shared on Instagram by the army’s aviation command showed an officer hitting the roof of the house with a brick to rescue the child and pull him to safety. Reuters blurred the toddler’s face to protect his identity.

The toddler and his relatives were trapped in the floods in Lajeado, in southern Brazil.

Heavy rains in the state have left dozens of people dead and missing. More than 32,000 have been displaced with storms affecting hundreds of cities in the state which borders Uruguay and Argentina.
